I immediately called their number to find out what happened, and spoke to a gentleman who had no desire to apologize or fix the situation. He proceeded to blame me in multiple ways for the driver leaving, and continued to say that it didn't matter because my vehicle couldn't have been worked on that night anyway. He just couldn't understand that if they committed to waiting they should have waited. Also, he said the driver had gone home, so either he or the driver wasn't being honest when they said they were going to pick up another car. Again, the real person to blame WAS me because I didn't listen to people that knew how this Sunoco is run. Lesson learned...
Horrible service charged way to munch money
However, things went south fast when they were selected by my road side assistance provider to tow my car to the dealership. Full disclosure, this part might not have been their fault, I don't know for sure. I was told by my road-side assistance that I would be receiving an automated call letting me know when the towing service would be arriving to tow my vehicle. Instead, I received a call from the tow-truck driver saying he was already at my car. Again, this problem probably could have been totally avoided if I had been given notice of their arrival. At this point I told the driver I was 20 minutes away, but could head that way immediately. He stated that he could just come back and pick it up in the morning. I said I would prefer to drive down there that night to give him the key, so that it would be at the dealer-ship as soon as possible (we have three kids, and had family in town, so the car was a neccesity). I asked him if he would be willing to wait for me, he said YES... After driving TWENTY minutes, down the ledges, on snow covered roads in a front-wheel drive can with no snow tires yet, I arrived at my vehicle. What did I find? A note saying he had left to go pick up another car.
My visit to this Sunoco was not a pleasant one. I feel honestly robbed of my money. When visiting I asked for my car to be looked at. They took around 7mins to 10mins and removed nothing with me standing there. On getting a price for a part they informed me that 7 mins to 10 mins was 40$. I had no knowledge of any cost being that I was there to get a price on a repair. I hope you take my words in not coming here for any repairs.
Great mechanics and a solid old school Vermont business. Trustworthy and they have a great dog!
Worst part of this review is that I blame myself. I was told by two co-workers that using this Sunoco was a bad idea. However, for convienience, I decided to give them a shot. I actually was somewhat satisfied with the service on an oil change, only complaint being that it was grossly overpriced (Woodstock convienience).
24-hour gas with a Sunoco card or debit/credit. Good to know if traveling after hours through Vermont.
